How it all started?

To start our blog, I thought it's logical to tell about how it all started. But then I understood, that it was starting for so many years, that there is no actual start date. When was the first time Maria (who was the first to knit) knitted a toy? A bit more than 2 years ago, I guess. Later we started selling on Craft Markets. And people loved it. We always had someone appreciating, coming to see and buy our work.

Our main idea was to make all the designs by ourselves. However sometimes people ordered us well known characters, like Anna and Elsa from Frozen, Minions or these Peppas:

Even sometimes we were asked to create a toy of some famous person or someone's relative. But the idea was still the same... So the most of the toys you can find on this website are designed completely by us. Like this small bunny, which is (a bit updated version of) the very first model we created:

And yes, as for revisions. We've been improving our models all the time, to make them more expressive and unique. That's what we are working on all the time. And, we're enjoying it! Thinking about it, I understand that it was a great and unforgettable journey to where we are now. And we keep growing as designers and crocheters. So one day we decided to go international and create our website. And people keep asking me: why "MariSo" ? So, we are a mother(Maria) and a daughter (Sofia), so we simply joined our names together. Maria is a full time knitter, and designer and she is passionate about it. She all the time comes with new ideas and designs. Also she thinks out of the box, so her designs are sometimes so different! (She loves dragons, so all dragons are hers) And, yes, when someone asks us to crochet a movie character, she does it. I can't :) I knit as well, but I don't knit as much as she does. I enjoy creating something once in a while, like these articulated cats. And I love to fulfill my own ideas of "perfection", and create designs which my inner child would love (which is a lot of things). Articulated, with possibility to brush the hair, with clothes that can be taken off etc. I think I already wrote quite a long post... So I'll go knitting for now!
